What information we collect

Membership application form

When you fill out the membership form, this information is stored: name, email, phone, student ID or identifier, university or country of study, and a profile photo (optional).

Event registration form

When you register for an event, this information is stored: name, email, and phone (optional). A unique code (QR) is also generated for you so your identity can be verified at the event entrance.

User account

If your membership is approved, a user account is created for you. This account is used to log in to the site and view your digital card.

What we do with your information

• Membership information is used only to review and approve your application.
• Event registration information is used only to manage that event and for check-in at the entrance.
• Your email is used to send necessary messages (confirmations, status notifications).
• Your information is not sold or rented to any other person or organization.

Cookies

The GNIS website uses standard WordPress cookies for logging in to user accounts. Without these cookies, logging in is not possible.
